Color Depth and Color Capacity
The maximum number of distinct colors that a raster graphic can represent is determined by its bit depth (number of bits per pixel):
C = 2^n
Where:
- C represents the total count of representable colors.
- n is the bit depth (color depth) in bits (e.g., 1-bit, 8-bit, 24-bit).
Animation Frame Rates
The visual quality of motion rendering is defined by the number of frames displayed per second:
R_min = 16 fps (Minimum frame rate required to perceive continuous motion smoothly)
R_natural = 25 fps (Recommended frame rate for natural-looking, professional movement)
Audio File Compression Factor
To estimate the relative size of a compressed MPEG Layer-3 (MP3) file compared to its raw Waveform (WAV) counterpart:
S_MP3 = 0.10 * S_WAV
Where:
- S_MP3 is the size of the compressed MP3 file.
- S_WAV is the size of the uncompressed WAV file at equivalent CD-quality.
